i never wanted to say it because i knew every other queer would have my head on a pike for it,
but i've always thought found family was overrated. not a bad trope, to be clear,
but i didn't understand why people would lose their goddamn minds over it.
people will say "found family" and everyone in the immediate vicinity will nod understandingly,
as if a found family is all a story needs to be good.
i've always thought it was kind of annoying, as someone who never really got the hype.
it's just a group dynamic. what's the big deal?

but i think i understand what the big deal is, now.
